Ward Clerk – Oxborough Ward

An opportunity has arisen for a hardworking individual with excellent communication skills to join our busy team on Oxborough.

As a ward clerk you will provide a comprehensive range of clerical and administrative functions to support the ward staff in delivering a high quality service to patients.

We are looking for you to have clerical experience with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. In addition to this you should have a good working knowledge of IT systems.

Duties for this role will include:

  • Greeting visitors to the ward
  • Answering the telephone
  • Managing patient’s case notes
  • Maintaining a record of patient admissions 
  • Communicating with all departments throughout the Trust.

As ward clerk you will assist the ward staff with general clerical duties and also provide cover as necessary to other wards within the Directorate.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
